Instructions to lock lower legs of Walkstool, models Comfort and Luxe with big rubber feet
To lock the lower legs when not using Walkstool, twist the legs so they are locked by the rubber feet being close together. To use Walkstool, do the opposite and you unlock the lower legs.

Walkstool's name came from the fact that you can attach the Walkstool to your belt or any other strap and walk hands free. In other words, Walkstool is the stool that will walk with you. To attach walkstool to your belt simply thread the closing strap through your belt or through a belt loop and then snap the button.

The Walkstool Comfort is designed and made in Sweden. The Walkstool Basic is designed in Sweden and assembled in China.

The two primary materials used to construct Walkstools are commercial grade anodized aluminum and heavy-duty nylon mesh seat.

One group of people Walkstool was originally designed for was the electricians, service technicians and skilled workers. These workers needed a light, compact and heavy-duty stool they could carry in their tool bag and use on the job site on a daily basis. The other reason Walkstool's high maximum weight capacities are so important is to insure that the owner of a Walkstool can feel confident using their Walkstool. Most folding stools have a maximum weight capacity of 100kg / 200-225 lbs. If these lower capacity stools are tested they are tested inside a building, on a flat, hard, level surface. If these stools are put into reality such as use on an uneven or soft surface the stools break. The primary reason for the low capacity stools failing is whenever any three-legged stool is used on an uneven or soft surface two of the legs are taking on more of the user's weight, because the weight is not being distributed evenly. The stool then fails, due to the stool is not built strong enough to take an uneven distribution of weight.

The Walkstool's weight capacity testing is conducted by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute.

Swedish legislation states that guarantee period must be minimum 12 months. We have extended it to 24 months for Walkstool.

You can contact the seller and have the receipt with you and replace the Walkstool or just change a lower leg if that is the problem. Another alternative is to contact us directly via email lars@scandinavian-touch.se, tell us date of receipt, where you bought it, what is the problem, model of Walkstool, address and phone number. If we donīt have any questions to you, we will send you free of charge the spare part you need or if Walkstool is to be replaced we could perhaps ask you to contact the seller since sending Walkstool to some countries are rather expensive. If lower leg is broken itīs normally misuse and if foot is missing after being out, you can in both cases order spare parts from us.

It should not happen but if you are pulling it out very quickly it is possible. The same could apply after some years of using Walkstool due to the fact that the red plastic button can get soften after some year. In those cases there is no problem putting the lower leg back by pushing on both red buttons at the same time. Itīs the same procedure as when releasing the lower leg to wash it and then putting it back. This problem will not affect the security of sitting on Walkstool but always ensure that the red lock button is in the correct position and is visible after extending the telescopic legs to obtain normal seat height.

When we assemble Walkstool we put silicon into the legs to make it smooth and to avoid the squeak sound which is due to the pressure of the red plastic component against the aluminium. If there is any squeak itīs normally when the product is new and you can get rid of it by pushing each lower legs in and out until it disappear.

The reason is that you can also sit on Walkstool without extending the telescopic legs. This gives a perfect position for professional users like electricians, installers and service technicians et c, when working in low positions from time to time. They have in general big problems with their knees and Walkstool could reduce the pressure on the knees with up to 70% compared with using knee pads (which not everyone is doing). They can also sit on Walkstool with extended legs when working in medium height instead of having one knee in the ground or bend their back. For people being out on picnic, painting fences etc in low positions, working with their motor bike or in garden, Walkstool could be perfect. Try yourself to sit in low position. After some seconds you will find the balance and notice how nice it feels.

Walkstool is the only 3-legged stool in the world with telescopic legs (with patents and trademark protection), which not only makes it compact and easy to carry but also offers two sitting heights. It is made of aluminium to make it light, but yet strong enough. Laboratory tests on plain surface indicate that WS Comfort 65cm/26in, which is the strongest of the models, took a burden up to 425 kg/935 lbs before it started to break (lower legs gliding apart). We are not on the market to compete with 3-legged stools that you can buy 10 for same price as our Swedish models. We are on the market to sell the best 3-legged stool on earth (we are confident we do) to people that appreciate a product they can live with year after year.

For anyone that is going to use the Walkstool extensively in the lower position (kneeling height) we recommend the Comfort 45/18 or Comfort 55/22.

No. It is not safe to attempt to stand on any three-legged stool.

Yes, Walkstool can be used in the sand. Because Walkstool never needs any oil or lubricants it can be used in the sand. The Comfort models have special legs tips, which are designed to resist sinking in the sand or other soft surfaces.

To extend the Walkstool legs slowly pull the legs down until the red safety button is visible and locks into position. Once the three legs are locked into place the Walkstool is ready to be sat upon. As with any three-legged stool the proper way to sit on the Walkstool is with one of the three seat points between your legs (like sitting on a bicycle seat). To retract the Walkstool's legs push in the red safety button, while pushing the walkstool's legs back towards the seat. Please do not attempt to stand on the Walkstool, due to its three legged design it is not safe to stand on the Walkstool. As for maintenance, Walkstools never require oil or lubricants; they are designed to work dry. If your Walkstool gets extremely dirty, you can remove the legs and wipe them down with a clean dry cloth. The legs can be removed by pushing the red safety button and pulling out the legs, after the legs are in the extended position.

By visit their web site you will also find if they sell Walkstool via internet/mail order or are distributors to retailers. If they are selling to retailers and you canīt find their retailers on their web site, please fell free to send them an email stating where you live and ask for nearest retailer.

Ask your store to order the model you want or look for other one in your country that have the model you want or buy it from a company in other country that are selling via internet/mail order and have the model you want. An alternative is to email to us and tell us what retailer/distributor you were talking to and we will try to make them order the model you want.

Since we have 5 models many companies donīt want to sell all models but prefer to buy the models they think will be most appreciated by the customers.

It depends how often you are using Walkstool, where you use it and how much money you want to spend. If you want the best in the world with highest quality and seat comfort, you should choose a Comfort model depending on your height and weight. If you are slim Comfort (40% bigger seat size than normal) 45/18 and 55/22 could be the best choice even if also slim people love Comfort 65/26 if they are tall (80% bigger than normal) due to seat comfort. On wet grass or out in forest Comfort are outstanding due to bigger rubber feet that minimize risk of sinking down. Basic models have the same concept with telescopic legs of aluminium and same weight. The main differences are smaller seat seat of polyester and normal plastic feet. At the same time is app half the price which means that many people prefer to buy two Walkstool Basic instead of one Swedish model. If you donīt want to spend the money the Swedish models cost but want the concept with telescopic function and bigger seat size (20% bigger) than normal 3-legged stools and good quality, then Walkstool Basic is a perfect choice.

It depends on many factors like in which country, which continent, level of VAT or sales taxe and if you are buying it via internet, mail order catalogue, by a retailer for professional users, hunting, outdoor or caravan shops. If you have older models of Walkstool (45 cm or 55 cm) or Walkstool Basic, then it's nothing to do but to avoid having Walkstool attached to your body with lower legs down.

If you have models Comfort or Luxe with bigger rubber feet, do as follows: lock the lower legs when not using Walkstool by twisting the upper legs, locking the lower legs by the rubber feet being close together. The newer Walkstool Comfort models have also a practical pouch for storage and carriage.

The reason why one lower leg canīt collapse (fold, pull in) into the upper leg is that it has been bent a little bit. Normally itīs because one has been sitting on Walkstool on uneven ground and/or been putting all pressure on one or two lower legs (perhaps from leaning back- or forwards to pick up something). This could result in one lower leg being bent and also hard to pull out.

What cold be done is to get a new lower leg of the same model by ordering at www.walkstool.com under Spareparts. However, before ordering one should check if also the upper leg has been bent. The easiest way to do so is to take out one of the other lower legs and pull it into the upper leg. If this canīt be done then the upper leg has been bent too and then itīs not much one can do but buying a new Walkstool. Next time be careful not to put pressure on one or two lower legs which we also mention in our blue leaflet that comes with each Walkstool.
